This teach-in will cover the ongoing conflict in Sudan. Just over a year ago, civil war broke out in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. As the leaders of these groups fight for power, civilians have been caught in the middle. Thousands have been killed, while millions more have been forced to flee their homes, all while the international community has remained silent. Join Prof Nisrin Elamin and Aayah Amir, founding members of the Sudan Solidarity Network, to learn about the conflict in Sudan, the contemporary history of Sudan from the 2018 revolution to today, and how to get involved in solidarity efforts from Toronto. This teach in will take place April 10th, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in AP246. Register here.
